Q: Can PSA oxygen be used for metal cutting or welding?
A: For steel welding, oxygen purity should be higher than 99.2% and 99% for cutting. Since PSA oxygen purity is 90%~96%, it cannot be used for such applications. Q: Where shall be desiccant dryer be placed?
A: The desiccant dryer shall been placed before air buffer tank. If it is placed after air buffer tank but before PSA oxygen generator, there will be no buffer for PSA oxygen generator. Once inlet valve of PSA oxygen generator opens, the gas demand is much higher than rated flow rate and it needs a buffer as near as possible to suffice the process. Otherwise the PSA nitrogen generator will “suck” from desiccant dryer and effects in impact of gas to it.
Q: Which factors contribute to performance of PSA oxygen generators?
A: The key factors that contribute to performance of PSA oxygen generators are zeolite molecular sieve (ZMS), gas distribution, adsorption pressure and adsorption periods.
For a certain type of ZMS, the scientific gas distribution system contributes to higher utilization thus to bring down needed quantity of ZMS and longer service life. Optimized system will make the equipment simpler and more reliable.

Maintenance to the air compressor includes replacements to air/oil filter elements after 4,000 hours, oil separator and lubricant oil after 8,000 hours.
